Being the number one provider of GPS vehicle tracking devices means we are different, and one of the ways we set ourselves apart from the competition is our exclusive array of benefits and features offered. This week we are going to take a closer look at one of the most mentionable features--àThe Geo-Fence.
Lets start with the basics. Wikipedia: A geo-fence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. A geo-fence could be dynamically generated—as in a radius around a store or point location. Or a geo-fence can be a predefined set of boundaries, like school attendance zones or neighborhood boundaries.
In simpler terms a geo fence is like a virtual boundary set around a designated area. So what does this mean for dealers? Take for example a client with less than favorable credit who happens to travel frequently. The Geo-Fence feature acts as a guardian to this asset so to speak. The BHPH dealer can set up their own virtual perimeters and will be notified if the vehicle has breached these boundaries right away automatically, therefore providing the Dealer with more security and peace of mind than before. It can also serve as an alert if the asset ever leaves the state of origination. Either way Geo-Fence keeps the dealers informed.
The Geo-Fence feature can also be a major help in the repossession process, which will significantly reduce in costs typically associated with a repo. If the situation were to arise that you, the dealer, would need to locate the assets exact whereabouts the Geo-Fence would allow you to do so in a quicker and more efficient manner.
Geofencing is a critical element to telematics hardware and software. By allowing users of the system to draw zones around places of work, customer’s sites and secure areas this feature is just another way we stay ahead of the game.
